I wanted to do something fun for Halloween this year and this was the result! At the start I was going to be even more ambitious than this and do every nail different, but it was late when I started and I hadn’t got the other designs down properly, so I went with this instead!
I start a new temp job on Monday and I wanted something sedate but still trendy. So I found this tutorial by myawesomebeauty and gave it a whirl. Have to say, turned out pretty neat!
This is the first nail art I’ve done that I actually like lately. Everything else I’ve tried in the last few weeks just hasn’t seemed worthy enough. But this one? This one I’m loving the hell out of right now! When I do it again, though, I’m going to use two different colours, because these two aren’t bright enough for me :D
The Olympics are coming to a close so I took my flags off this morning (*sob*). Didn’t want naked fingernails, so I played around and came up with this. Loosely inspired by Madeline Poole’s nails for American Apparel.
You would not believe how long it’s taken me to do these! I had the idea for this on the day of the Opening Ceremony, but I messed it up and had to re-start. Then the white when all crappy and.. Urgh. ANYWAY, here’s the finished product! \o/
I’m going to see Queen + Adam Lambert in London on Thursday (I AM EXCITE, YO) and I needed something that would go with my outfit. So I rummaged around in my Box of Tricks(TM) and found two colours that matched my jeans and my top; the turquiose colour is Rimmel’s 825 “Sky High” and the purple is Barry M’s 303 “Bright Purple”
Then I found s-lacquer’s tutorial on Interlocking Dots on my dashboard and I knew exactly what to do! And this is the result! Next time I’ll be more careful with the size of the dots, but I was working quickly tonight so they came out all sizes.
So freaking happy about how this one turned out!! :D first time I’ve tried flowers like these - I think it would have been better with acrylics (keep meaning to invest in a set) but I managed with while nail polish just fine. Dominant hand is, as always, crappier, but practice makes perfect and all that jazz ;P
I’ve had this polish on my toes for a couple of weeks and I wanted to try it on my fingernails. I did initially have a different design in mind for this one, but it didn’t quite work out :( So I did something simple instead!
I saw this post by polished-mi and I loved it so much that I just had to try it out myself. Have to say, don’t think I did too badly, considering I had to line it free hand and I’m not that great at freehand things yet. And it’s definitely no-where near as good as the original, but as a first try? I’d say it’s pretty damn sweet :P
From This Tutorial by SimpleLittlePleasures. I wanted something simple and something I’d done before, so I plucked this one out of my Tutorial playlist and went to work. It’s more of a evening/party look, but it’ll do for now :)
Just had my nails gelled so I thought I’d try something new. I’ve been wanting to try a gradient effect for ages but it never seemed to work right for me. Until I found this Neon Rainbow Ombre tutorial by NikkieTutorial. The wet sponge really helped to blend it nicely!
If I’m going to be honest, I’m not completely sure on how they turned out. Not bad for a first try, but I think I’ll try them against white next time and not nude. They’re not punchy enough for my liking :P
